Story Time

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Parents are an essential part to early literacy development. Uplift Literacy connects families to existing resources in the community and educates families on how to become advocates for literacy at home.

Uplift Literacy hosts a monthly storytime for families of children in PreK through 3rd grades. While volunteers instill a love for reading in children through small-group read alouds, parents and caretakers are:

  • Introduced to foundations of early literacy

  • Educated on tools that can be used to support literacy development at home

  • Empowered to become a child’s most influential teacher

  • Provided with free books to help create literacy-rich environments at home
